We adhere to all Georgia codes governing the powers and duties of Notary Publics commissioned in the state of Georgia.

  • The Notary document signer must physically appear before the Notary at the time of notarization - not before, not after. A telephone call from the signer or witness does not constitute a "personal appearance."
  • The Notary must identify the signer through either (1) current government-issued ID, complete with photograph, physical description and signature or (2) vouching of a personally known, reliable, un-involved, credible witness who is under oath.
  • The Notary must be impartial and disinterested and not notarize a document under the following circumstances: bearing Notary's name, signature or that of a Notary's spouse or relative's name or one will any way benefit the Notary.
  • The Notary must make record of each notarization and require document signer to affix signature or thumbprint when applicable, in official Notary journal.
